Help Write the Festival’s Next Chapter
After nine wonderful years, the Eastern Sierra Book Festival is for sale. This is an opportunity to take the helm of an established literary event and help shape its future as it enters its tenth year in 2027.
Historically held on the east side of the Sierra Nevada in a beautiful natural setting, the festival brings readers, writers, publishers, and book lovers together for a day of books, conversation, and discovery. Future events could be held elsewhere on the Eastside, giving the new owner flexibility in choosing a setting. A new owner will inherit an established name, a welcoming community, and the experience built over nine years of bringing the event to life.
A Foundation to Build On
The festival’s greatest assets are its regional reputation, community goodwill, and network of authors, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters. Its history includes relationships with the Mammoth Museum at Hayden Cabin, the Southern Mono Historical Society, and local sponsors, along with returning authors and attendees.
The sale brings together the festival’s brand, audience connections, archives, and practical resources, giving a new organizer a foundation for the next chapter and room to bring fresh ideas.
Support Through the Transition
Founder Jennifer Crittenden will assist the new owner with planning and running the 2027 festival to help ensure a smooth transition. The tenth annual event is scheduled for Saturday, July 17, 2027.
